Junior Category Manager

The Automotive Aftermarket Europe division manufactures and supplies specialty and innovative chemicals for the automotive aftermarket. Products are manufactured in Spain and Belgium and commercialized globally across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, Asia, and Africa.
The Role
The Junior Category Manager supports the Category Manager in the development of the Engine Care Product Category (Additives and Workshop products) to deliver above-market growth: market analysis, recommendation and implementation of marketing strategies, and CBI projects.
Under supervision, the role contributes to key projects that drive growth, ensuring accurate execution of plans across multiple markets. This position involves market research and competition analysis, market and offer segmentation, promotions, CBI project development, value proposition, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market approach in collaboration with R&D, Sales, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities
Market, Customer & Competition Analysis
· Collect and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities
· Estimate market size, market share and potential
· Prepare regular reports to identify opportunities and risks
Offer & Brand Strategy
· Define marketing strategies for Brand and Offer
· Define customer and end-user segmentation/channel
· Propose action plans to increase sales (Push/Pull strategy) by end-user, channel, and segment
CBI (Customer Back Innovation) / PLS (Product Line Simplification)
· Contribute to market insights collection and identify new product opportunities
· Plan and lead CBI projects with internal and external stakeholders
· Coordinate new product launches
· Support technical and marketing documentation
· Collaborate with internal departments to optimize processes (nomenclature, forecast, labels, safety)
Pricing & Promotions
· Analyze sales data to define actions to increase sales and margin and minimize slow movers
· Monitor price competitiveness and product margin; suggest positioning adjustments and yearly increases
· Provide field support to 80 customers
· Create marketing materials (presentations, product sheets, digital content)
Administration & Reporting
· Maintain databases (products, customers, pricing)
· Prepare KPIs and project tracking reports
Requirements
· Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
· 2–3 years’ experience in marketing, data analysis, or product management (internship or entry-level)
· Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional EU languages a plus
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital analytics tools
· Project management skills
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Ability to manage pressure
· Team player
· Proactive attitude and willingness to learn in an international environment
